What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For behavior modification, we do an evaluation with a session to give you an estimate of how long it will take to change the behavior and start working on changing how your dog responds right away.
For daycare and boarding, we offer a trial date to help your dog acclimate to the new environment. Dogs who are in training can relax without having to worry about other dogs bothering them if they have an issue with it.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My experience includes working with problem dogs in shelters on the east coast and in California for the last 11 years and 6 years of that working with private clients in their home. I have studied the philosophy of the best trainers and I'm working towards a certification.

Evaluation without session: $75 + travel as needed

How did you get started in this business?
I could not find a trainer who could help me with my own aggressive dog so I became the trainer who could help.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All kinds. I'm the dog trainer's dog trainer. Many of my clients have gone through multiple other trainers before they find me.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My own dog became blind then was attacked by another dog shortly after then became dog reactive. Helping her overcome her dog aggression issues helped me become a better trainer.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Hiring a dog trainer is expensive. Hiring a bad one is more expensive.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Do your homework. Find out what methods they use. If their training focuses on stopping the problem after it has already happened, find a different trainer.
