Mark Leon was a past president of the Hawaii Irrigation Landscape Contractors Association (2003-2004), past vice president of the Aloha Arborists (2004 and 2005), an industry representative to LICH, a member in good standing of the International Society of Arborists, the Hawaii Turfgrass Association, and the Irrigation Association. He was one of the twelve (12) national finalists in Total Landscape Care's 2008 Landscaper of the Year Award. Mark is one of three consultants to The Outdoor Circle and also one of a very small group of U.S. consultants (the only one from Hawaii) to Tree Climbing Japan, as well as the Japan Arborists.

We assess what is needed, usually over the phone.
All quotes need to have a walkthrough on-site to make sure the customer is appropriately informed and comfortable before we proceed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Mark Leon is a licensed landscape contractor, a certified arborist, a certified tree worker, a certified landscape technician, a certified irrigation specialist, a judge for Tree Worker Certification testing, and a judge for CLT testing. He is the only one in the State of Hawaii currently holding all seven credentials. Mark has twenty-five years' local experience in landscape installation, all aspects of landscape maintenance, and tree work. Born in Hawaii, he trained horses on the jumper/trainer circuit while attending college on the U.S. mainland's west coast. He then started a successful business in California only to sell it and travel the world for six years. In 1990, Mark's love for the outdoors led him home to start Sunshine Landscape.
