About this pro

We've been landscaping for over 35 years. I feel we have the knowledge of what will and won't work for a yard. Helping the owner decide on the correct Plants and tree's for any situation along with correct drainage and properly built drip irrigation systems. We do it right the 1st time.

The feeling of another job, well done. The fact that the landscape will last for many years and customers are satisfied.

Gary Preston recently renovated my entire front yard and neighbors have been asking me about it. It really stands out and uses less maintenance and water as well. It's a no brainer, Preston Landscaping is changing the game.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Usually the customer has some ideas or a look they would like to achieve. I can help with adding ideas and making sure the project will be a success.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I worked for Wayne Cassani Landscaping to start my career. Wayne is very knowlegeable and did not hesitate to always guide and help me. I can say: I learned from the best. After I got my contractors licence, Again Wayne sent me jobs. I was able to support my family. I was and I am The luckiest man in the world.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Each job is different. One must estimate labor cost and cover overhead expenses. Liability insurance. Bond, etc.

How did you get started in this business?

I was working for a can plant in 1974. We went on strike and Wayne Casaini offered some work. It was the hardest work ever. But for some reason I enjoyed it. Soon I quit the can plant to work for Cassani Landscaping for five dollars per hour. Unbelievable. But in time it worked out for the good. I made a living. I learned how to believe in myself and be grateful, follow through with what you say.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Ive worked with commercial contractors, realators, many homeowners. Im glad I was given a chance to do so.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

My yougest son recently got married. The venue was up by Yosemite. This doesnt have much to do with landscaping. But Naure was at its best. And I was proud.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Try and always compare contractor to contractor if any company is unlicenced it will show dramaticly in proposal. And of course there is no protection for owners if the work goes bad or damaged.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

Dream big. If its your home youve worked hard for it. Put in a nice plan that you will enjoy to look at. Take time to look at plants and material you think will work. Owners have great ideas. Finally, I feel putting 10% of your homes value into your landscape would not be unreasonable. A nice landscape sets the mood. Have a good one.
