Meet, review any plans specs or just spaces. Give customers feedback, write a detailed proposal. If accepted write a contract with payment and construction schedules and get started. Finish on time.

22 years experience as carpenter, 15 as a general contractor

Going cheap always comes back to haunt you.
Check all licenses, insurances and work history.
Call past clients.
Feel comfortable with your choice as you will be very connected to that person for the period of the project.
