We are a full-service interior design firm and we adapt to our clients' needs and budgets.  We focus on making the design as well as the product selection and construction process as simple and fun as possible.  Our expertise allows us to guide and educate our clients and work as a team with architects and builders.

Considering my international background, I enjoy helping people from all parts of the world achieve their dream home or workspaces.  Apart from the creative aspects of our job, the other key part for me is being useful and helping others through this challenging process.  Its implementation requires strong project management and problem-solving skills, as well as great attention to detail.

Lucile is a talented designer who listens carefully to understand what you are trying to achieve rather than just pushing her personal tastes on you. She also is thoughtful about staying within a budget while still delivering a design that looks and feels much nicer than it costs!

Hiring Lucile Glessner as a designer was one of the best decisions I made for our project, and I recommend her wholeheartedly. I am certain that engaging Lucile not only saved us money, but produced a result that we could not have accomplished without her. Services provided: Our project involved a complete house re-build. Lucile Glessner was responsible for the interior design and helped us accomplish a beautiful finish, harmonizing the architecture and interior design. She brought an extensive network of suppliers and vendors, from cabinet makers to lighting supplies and everything in between, and got for us the best value hands down across the many, many purchases (too many to track) we made for the house. Professionalism: Lucile is the ultimate professional, able to work through challenges to find solutions that meet budget, design, timeline and construction requirements. Every step along the way when you work with Lucile you are engaging a serious professional, from the initial meet and greet to the proposal and contract, when revisions are needed and all the way through detailed invoices and thorough follow through. With her professional approach she earns the respect of all of those involved in a project such that if something gets complicated Lucile will be an asset to the home owner as she will help find solutions and resolve difficult situations. Quality of Services: Lucile is an exquisite designer with an uncanny ability to understand a client’s sensibility, guide it and realize it. Our project involved a complete house re-build and we have received multiple compliments to our design and significant increase to the value of our property which is to her credit. Lucile Glessner helped us accomplish a beautiful finish, harmonizing the architecture and interior design. We could not have done it without her. Furthermore, because she stays abreast of the technical innovations in sustainable / green building practices and is experienced in this area she was able to advise us on what made sense for the needs of our house. Responsiveness: Lucile understands the time pressures that construction projects are subject to, and excels in detailed project management, responsiveness and meet-the-deadline attitude. She knows what’s going to be needed when, is a step ahead when needed and ready at an instant when a decision needs to be made. She stays involved through the design-construct-source-install process keeping everyone informed and staying on top of what’s needed when.

I love design but only do it every so often. Bringing in Lucile each time has been like engaging with a mentor. She educated my eye. She never sought to control me, but I knew when she gave me a certain look that I was definitely headed the wrong way Her sources are amazing. It is her super power, along with her unerring eye. I did not at first appreciate her commitment to green design. I was not against it but I did not wish to compromise the aesthetics. I quickly learned that her LEEDS expertise leads to a more beautiful space and overall way of being. I am a complete convert. Lucile is a genius in many ways but so human and down-to-earth that every interaction is both stimulating and nutritious.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Prior to the Coronavirus era, I would go to my clients' homes and meet with them to discuss their projects and take measurements of their home or office.  A lot of this is now done online and via videoconferencing.  We also use Pinterest to share ideas and products.  We provide space plans and wall elevations, 3D renderings, and spreadsheets as needed for visualization.  We do have access to a lot of vendors and manufacturers and pass on our substantial discounts to our clients.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Apart from a bachelor's degree in English and American literature and linguistics from La Sorbonne University, I went back to school for an interior design Associate degree at West Valley College.  I also received my LEED AP accreditation (Leadership in energy and environmental design) as I am extremely interested in providing healthy and sustainable solutions for my clients' living environments. From 2017 until 2019 I was the professional development director for Cal Pen ASID. I have also been an ongoing lecturer on biophilic design.
