Mackenzie Brengle is a registered veterinary technician (RVT) with significant experience in veterinary office settings. She found her love for training and rehabilitation after losing her Queensland Heeler very suddenly and unnecessarily at age 13--she set out toxsoend as much time with any and every type of animal she possibly could. Having been born into a family of 5 kids and 5 cats, both people and four-legged critters came very naturally to her. After spending nearly 25 years wondering where she fit into this world, it suddenly became all to clear that she was put on this Earth so that she could spend her life doing everything within her power to help every animal within reach in any and every way possible--to prove that every animal deserves a chance to be completely and totally believe in, to be strong for the families and creatures that can't be strong for themselves. She's never been one to give up easily--or at all, for that matter--and this practice has become her greatest strength with animals; she believes in them when no one else does, maybe not even themselves.

Being a millennial who understands what it's like to be half-dead inside and find solace in the unconditional love of a pet, as well as what it's like to struggle to pay the bills, I am incredibly negotiable when it comes to pricing. I truly believe you should never have to choose between giving your furry family member the best care possible and buying them food.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Always be sure to meet someone in person before you trust them with your pet--more importantly, make sure your pet feels safe around them! Don't trust the impression you get over the internet, ever. Trust nothing but what you can see and feel for yourself; animals can be picky! Just because you hire someone with all the right credentials on paper doesn't necessarily mean your animal(s) will feel okay around that person - credentials mean nothing to your tailed family member!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
When looking for pet sitters or trainers, one of the most essential things to keep in mind is your pet's breed-specific needs. Be sure your training goals are realistic when seeking out trainers, and look for those with experience working in those specific areas of behavior. When seeking sitters, set expectations and limits and be sure to communicate them clearly--never EVER assume anyone will know what is not okay. OVER COMMUNICATE, always! And if they're not willing to communicate equally, move on!
