FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I sometimes set up a time to "meet n greet" for a fee of $35, next we agree on expectations and we become familiar with the pet and provide care. The process of adding a new customer is largely in the hands of the customer. It is about making the customer feel good about where they leave their pet, so they can usually lead the process (as long as it is reasonable).

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have over ten years of experience, working with pets and exotic animals.  I volunteered at Twillerger in San Rafael and worked with exotic wildlife.  I have a pet first aid certification, and I am always learning more about the work I do.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Cat Sitting $50 ($5 for additional cats)

Dog Boarding $60 ($5 for additional dogs)

Other pets $50

(Holiday price regular fee + $20)

Dog Walking (group or solo walks)

20 minutes $25

30 minutes $30

50 minutes $35

How did you get started in this business?

I got started in the business because I worked with a dog walker in SF, that showed me the work, and taught me many things.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with all sorts of very nice customers.  Most pet people tend to be very nice people.  I have been lucky that they have for the most part been very, very wonderful.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I really enjoy having an established relationship with pets, and owners.  It makes it easier to make them happy because you know them already and you know what they need.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

The best advice I can give a customer is to follow that gut feeling.  If the person has all the right qualifications but you do not feel comfortable then do not leave your pet there.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

I think the most important questions are related to safety.  I think that pet owners should ask questions about the conditions that their pets will be taken care of, thus ensuring that those needs will be met. For example, if you have a dog that doesn't get along with other dogs, then, it would be best to board him with a pet service that can provide him individualized care, and isolate him from other dogs.
