On 1 June 2023, Crystal was included on the Dean’s Honours List for her Year 3 Undergraduate Bachelor of Design at The University of Melbourne.
Crystal began working at DesignInc in August 2021 as an Architectural Student, where she has been able to apply her skills and knowledge in a professional setting.
Her future at DesignInc is looking very bright, as she completes her Masters in Architecture, while continuing to leave a lasting impression through her exceptional work. We have no doubt that Crystal will continue to excel in her career, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things she will accomplish in the future.
We asked Crystal how her experience at DesignInc helped with her studies:
‘The opportunity to work at DesignInc as a student has allowed me to gain valuable work experience in the professional field prior to completing my studies. Balancing work with study is sometimes difficult. However, to be able to experience how architectural firms operate, see how architects work, and learn how to ‘architecture’ with professionals (in-person!) allows me to translate what I have learned in the classroom into practice, while gaining a better understanding of where I want to head into the future and how to get there.
Office culture goes hand in hand with the work. The people here at DesignInc have all been supportive, amazing teachers, leaders, and friends too! I am learning and developing both skills and knowledge, all the while thoroughly enjoying the experience.’

Completing Stage 3 of its master plan, the new general learning building is the first major two-storey development for St Joseph’s School Hectorville. The contemporary learning building fosters student engagement by promoting sociability, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
The new building provides eight modern learning areas, out-of-school hours care (OSHC) facilities, and allied health consulting rooms, catering to the school’s growing student population in the northeastern suburbs. The light-filled general learning areas are connected by a contemporary learning commons, offering various group spaces, quiet study areas, and media nooks tailored to the school’s pedagogy.
