About this pro

I offer a quality, fun and safe enviroment for my guests dogs

that I board.  I offer Day Care, Overnight stays, extended

stays on my country property.  I have 7' fences, covered

outside dog areas with lights for evening potty time, and clean cozy dog beds for their comfort.  All dogs sleep in the house at night. I am a member of Pets Sitting International insurance company.  I have another home based business - I am a seamstress and all of my clients are Equestrians. I play with my guest dogs, and I have a huge, gated and fenced yard for them to run around and explore under my supervision.  We have a splash pool for them to play in when the weather is good.   We do not crate any dog or lock them up in a room.  We offer a real home enviorment on our Non smoking property.

We are horse, mule, dog and cat owners for over 40 years, and work closely with our local vets when needed.

i am also a Dog Sitter for the Rover.com family. You can see my website on rover.com , type in 94019 zip code then dog boarding and scroll down to Canyon Critter Camp to read my reviews and view photos of my guests dogs.

Woof - Cheryl

Pets give us so much enjoyment in life, and help keep us healthy and active. Life is too empty without them. Sadly I had to let go of my 15 yrs Sofie in Nov. I raised her from a pup and it still hurts.

They enrich our lives each day, and I enjoy working from home.

It is fun meeting new people and all kinds of breeds of dogs, and look forward to having a ongoing relationship with my dog owners.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

All dogs are required to be over 1 yrs of age, spayed or neutered, and dog social and friendly to others.

All dogs are required to be current on all shots including the dog flu and kennel cough vaccines prior to their  visit/stay.

We request that they have a bath and flea treatment within two weeks prior to their stay.

These requests ensures the health and safety of all guests that are already here, and helps keep the bugs at bay.

Owners are welcome to set up a Meet n Greet prior to any bookings, so that they may see our home and dog areas and be satisfied that it works for them.  A Meet and Greet is not mandatory but a good idea for all.

Owners provide all their dogs food, treats (no rawhide items), and/or meds.

Owners are to provide current shots records before booking.

We provide water and food dishes, exercise, fun and a safe place to hang out.  We have plenty of clean, cozy dog beds, but owners are welcome to bring theirs (clean please).

We are in touch daily with owners with photos and messages on how their pup is spending their day with us at Canyon Critter Camp.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been a horse, mule, dog and cat owner for over 40 years, have worked with many vets over these years as well in caring for all of the animals.  Being married to a vet also for many years, I gained more experience on a personal level in caring for others pets.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Our Day care rate is $45/ 8 hrs

For overnight boarding - $70/24 hrs

We start our day at 8am, and end at 8pm with guests dogs coming and going. We do our best to have wiggle room when needed, so these timelines should be kept in mind when making flight arrangements.

If clients are flying into our local airport after 7pm, it is best them to book another night, as it usually is closer to 9pm before they get here .

How did you get started in this business?

As a pet owner for many years, I have always cared for other friends pets including horses.  Over the years I have built my dog boarding business to be on a regular basis so I can stay at home and work along with my sewing business for my horse clients.

What types of customers have you worked with?

My clients are from all walks of life with cute critters from little 5 lbs cuddley ones up to 150lb Great Pyrenees, Great danes, with all the other breeds in the middle.

Many of my clients travel all over the world for pleasure and business, I have several regular monthly clients.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

We have a lot of extra fun here at the holiday times, as I have a big box of props and costumes.  They get dolled up for Christmas photos, Easter, Holloween and more.  My clients get a lot of laughs from their critter all dressed up.

We do out best to have fun, and enrich our guests each and every day.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Come for a visit, a Meet n Greet is a perfect way to get to know us and approval of our home and property.  We take a lot of pride in providing personal, one on one attention to each and every guest dog.  Providing a caring, loving, fun place for them to run and be a dog for those bigger dogs, and a warm and inviting place inside for the little house dogs.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

Is their dog really friendly with others?  are they really social with others?

All of our guest  dogs meet others thru fencing. We do not put guests dogs together at all, but they need to be friendly and not aggressive towards others.

Do our open hours work for them?
