About this pro

Hey there!! My name is Ruthie, an animal whisperer extraordinaire!

So you're going out of town and need someone to care for your fur baby? It's not an easy choice. In fact, it can be flat out nerve wrecking! But rest assured, this is where I come in :)

Everyone says they love animals but I have the proof of my experience that dates back to childhood and into my profressional life. I worked at a dog grooming/boarding/daycare facility in Indiana for several years until we moved to California. There I had individual clients in both my home and their home settings. Then, the pandemic happened and my family and I moved to Las Vegas! I am re-emBarking on my pet care venture and looking for new clients. I have an extensive background in animal sitting, daycare, training and some grooming. I also have experience in rehabilitation. No dog is too big (or small), too old (or young). All breeds/animals are lovingly accepted.
I'd love to set up a meet and greet prior to any bookings to ensure you're comfortable and confident with me as your care provider. I have references on hand as well as a photo album of previous clients.

When I say that animals are my calling; I've never meant anything more in my life.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Meet and greets are always awesome as this doesn't give you the full effect of what I am offering.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I was an apprentice to a groomer from the prestigious Nash Grooming School.

How did you get started in this business?

I got started in this once I learned you should always "do" what you love and animals are what I truly love. It just came naturally.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Any and every dog breed, age and background whether it be a rescue or from a breeder or puppy mill. A variety of cats, rabbits, hamsters, rats, guinea pigs, snakes, tarantulas, lizards, raccoons, squirrels, birds, fish- just about everything.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

So recently, I was able to go back to San Diego and in that visit, I spent time at a former clients house with their dog that I used to train and sit for. It had been months since I had seen them so it was great to see how much she had grown and that moment when the animal recognizes you- it is just priceless. They are like my second family.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Make sure they are what they say are. A lot of people think pet care is easy peasy and no experience is needed when that is completely not true. You have to be intuned with the pet and give them what they need on almost a super natural level. Plus, you never know what happens behind closed doors so make sure you feel confident in who's caring for your fur baby.
